Stuarthome Cavalier King Charles Spaniels defines where our roots are and our hearts will always reside…
Meet the person behind Stuarthome CKCS... Kathryn Yonkers
Stuarthome is small, dedicated AKC Cavalier King Charles Spaniel hobby show breeder located in Michigan. We are committed to the breed future.
We register our Cavaliers with the American Kennel Club and have voting membership in the Parent Club, ACKCSC. This membership is considered the gold standard for the breed in the AKC. The aim of Stuarthome CKCS is to breed to breed standard with concentration on health, temperament and beauty.
Stuarthome Cavaliers are tested for
CC/DE & EFS genes to prevent the genetically transmission of these syndromes
The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (CKCS) is a delightfully affectionate, playful, and intelligent little dog that repays his or her owner’s care and attention with an endearing devotion. The nickname for the breed is 'Cavaliers" or 'CKCS'.
Cavaliers are not kennel dogs. Because of hundred years of close contact with their owners and their development as lap dogs, they make wonderful companions.
The CKCSs want to love you and be loved, to run and play in a safe place, and to sleep in a soft bed - preferably your bed, but they are willing to negotiate on that point! They get along well with children, cats, and other dogs.

We support the ACKCS Rescue Trust and its efforts both at the national and local level. ACKCS Rescue Trust provides for the needs of any Cavalier coming into rescue for whatever reason. Many are owners' surrenders due to economic reasons and in addition the owners' personal health challenges. This trust provides a safety net for these rehomed Cavaliers! There are many rescue and owner surrendered Cavaliers that need loving and caring homes. Please take time to donate to this cause!
We recomment to work with Breed Specific (Cavalier) Rescue Organizations such as the ACKCS Rescue Trust since they know the needs of the breed.
We firmly believe in rescue and feel NO dog should be bred unless to improve on the breed and the breeder is prepared to keep all the puppies.
We firmly believe in giving and supporting both your local all-breed (purebred & mixed breeds) rescue and breed specific (Cavalier) organizations!
If you want a 'crossbred dog', also marketed as 'designer dogs', go to Pet Finders and search for Cavalier and many mixed breed dogs will display. There are many rescue 'crossbred' dogs needing homes.
Voting Member of the AKC Parent Club- American Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club, Trustee with the American Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Charitable Trust , Founding Partner of the ACKCS Charitable Trust, Member of the ACKCSC Health Committee and Founding & Current President of the Great Lakes Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club (Cavalier Club of Michigan).
Proven dedication to the breed by service.
